Local governments and school districts would get double the amount of state money they now receive under a Democrat-sponsored bill to raise income taxes for 1990 and 1991.
The school board expressed concern that the quality of education in District 219 has diminished even though the district spends more money per pupil to educate students than any other district in Illinois.
