District 73 voters turned down a request for the district's first tax rate hike in 20 years. The proposed increase could have generated as much as $680,000 a year.
In expectation of a deficit of $300,000 this year, school officials in School District 73 will ask voters to approve a raise in the district's maximum tax rate.
