Major events in Dist. 219 last year included school board decisions, the District 219 Caucus, Concerned Citizens for 219, and the closure of Niles East High School.
Despite a call from a parent-teacher group for some explanation about Superintendent Kenneth Olsen's job security, the District 219 board has declined to comment on the issue.
The Dist. 219 board approved recommendations for a longer school day and more required credit hours, as well as plans dealing with the open campus policy, student parking, lunch and study hall.
District 219 has selected James G. Erickson to be Superintendent effective no later than July 1, 1983. Dr. Erickson is currently Superintendent of Schools in District 4 in DuPage County.
