The Skokie Police Department was awarded accreditation by the Commission for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. Fewer than 100 law enforcement agencies in the nation and only eight in Illinois have received accreditation.
Skokie residents are invited to comment on the effectiveness of their police force at a public meeting next month. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will consider the Public comments as part of its study of the department.
